Goals


  1. To empower children by making them aware of their rights and responsibilities, and providing them with information about how they can protect themselves from abuse.
  2. To safeguard the rights of the girl child and to foster a culture of mutual respect between the genders.
  3. To enhance child participation, creating platforms for children to express themselves.
  4. To stop Goa from becoming a destination for child sex tourism.
  5. To encourage the government and tourism service providers to accept and observe the child friendly tourism code.
  6. To strengthen community initiatives to protect children by conducting targeted capacity-building programmes.
  7. To strengthen child protection mechanisms by providing psycho-social support to child victims of abuse and advocacy to make protocols and procedures more child friendly.
  8. Advocacy for the implementation of the Goa Children’s Act, which would help in reducing the vulnerability of children.
  9. To develop institutional mechanisms to safeguard the rights of children by actively interacting with government bodies.
  10. To improve the life chances of children by making health care, education and vocational training more accessible.
  11. To network with organisations at the regional, state, national and international level.
  12. To work on policy changes at the government level and to serve as a pressure group for the enactment and implementation of policies and laws that are in the best interests of children.
  13. Documenting and disseminating information on issues concerning children’s rights; developing a resource centre with printed and audio-visual material, as well as teaching aids that can be used by all those working with children.
  14. To strategise and develop future plans through ‘action research’.

  • CRG {Children’s Rights in Goa} is among one of the oldest organisations in Goa working towards protection of the rights of children. During its more than two decades of intervention, CRG has played a key role in reaching out to vulnerable children and protecting their rights. CRG has played a leading role, in formulating laws, and schemes for the benefit of the marginalised children in Goa. CRG has been instrumental in publishing IEC {Information Education Communication} materials which has helped in educating children and service providers.
